9.5 Greetings all! Oh man, what a week! First and foremost, thanks to the guys from The Living Corpse, Buz Hasson and Ken Haeser. You guys were awesome and did a fantastic job doing free sketches, signing books and just being great people, so thanks again! We hope to have you back very soon. To all who came down and showed support, thanks a bunch, creators and us retailers would be nothing without you guys and it puts a smile on everyone's face knowing there is a loyal following of faithful comic enthusiasts like yourselves. To those that didn't come down, shame on you! You missed a really good time, but don't worry there will be many more. Onward... CBJ IS MEDIA FRIENDLY! We're happy to report that the Staten Island Advance is doing an article on us here at CBJ in the North Shore section of next Thursday's SI Advance. Be sure to check it out! COMIC BOOK JONES TUESDAY TRIVIA NIGHT As you may have heard we have started up a Tuesday Trivia Night. The rules are simple and it's a lot of fun. Come down to the store around 6:00 PM for the sign up and choose to play by yourself or with a team (there is no limit to the amount of players on a team). There is a $2 buy in per person, all of the money going to the winning team. At 7:00 PM we'll begin the first of five rounds, each round containing 10 questions. Questions will generally hover around comic, sci-fi, tv, movie and other related trivia. After each round, points will be tallied up by our Quiz Master, Mr. Socko Jones, and we'll move on to the next round. At the end of the fifth round a winner will be crowned trivia champion. It's a ton of fun and I promise you that if you come once you'll want to come each and every week. MAGIC THE GATHERING SATURDAY TOURNAMENTS Taking place on Saturdays at 3:00 PM, we'll be holding Magic the Gathering tournaments. Play is open to all and is similar to the set up used for our weekly Monday UFS tournaments (info about which can be found below). Entry fees for the tournament will consist of either purchase of a couple of booster packs or tournament/starter pack. If you're interested don't hesitate to come on down and join us. We also carry a full range of booster and starter sets for the new Eventide series. ULTIMATE FIGHTING SYSTEM MONDAY NIGHT TOURNAMENTS Come join us every Monday evening at 3:00 PM and enter our weekly Ultimate Fighting System (UFS) card tournaments. If you don't know how to play, don't you worry! We will teach you how and guide you through every step of the way. The entry fee is one booster pack for any game and first prize is two booster packs of your choice. Also, if you happen to be at the store on a different day, ask Waffle to tell you all about it! BEAST'S OUT OF LOVE WEB COMIC Created by our very own webmaster and up and coming writer/artist Joe Frontirre, R.Beast's Out of Love is an awesome web comic that you can view for absolutely free by visiting our website and hitting up comicbookjones.net/rbeast. What have you got to lose? New pages are posted each and every week. BIRTHDAYS If you haven't already, send us an e-mail (comicbookjones@gmail.com) with your full name and birthday and we'll be sure to send you a very special birthday coupon once your day of birth arrives. It's totally worth it, I swear! Also, please put the word "Birthday" in the subject line. A REMINDER: Pull lists, specials orders, layaways and holds are always welcomed and encouraged but please be advised of the following rules. We will hold books for ONE WEEK and hold books from your pull lists for TWO WEEKS. On layaways we simply ask that upon your initial purchase you put down a 10% deposit and agree to come by and put money down each week. Keep in mind, that 10% discounts on Wednesdays will not be honored for layaways and we cannot accept payment with Don Knotts dollars.
